If things have gotten so messed up that we can't trust the people we elect to behave in our interests, the problem isn't with them, it's with us. I've always wondered where this idea that some federal judge is more qualified to handle national security than the President came from. I trusted President Bush to do that job and I felt that his critics in the press and politics were more interested in weakening him than in protecting us from further terrorist attacks.

Right now, I don't trust Obama to protect me, because he's trying to straddle politics and his duties as President. He doesn't seem to understand that he was elected to do a job, not to rewrite the Constitution. (Wouldn't it be nice to have candidates who would promise just to do the job, instead of go charging at windmills?).
