We all know how hard it is to monetize the news. One-to-many distribution is old school and losing its revenue model. Many-to-many is just too hard on an old news-hound's ego.
Luckily, a CBS news veteran is showing the way with an entirely novel approach. One-to-one news distribution:
"And in an undeniable black eye for the network, prosecutors said Friday that the extortionist was a veteran CBS News producer who proceeded to deposit the bogus $2 million check handed him by Letterman as part of the undercover sting."
Now that's disintermediation.
Still a few bugs to be worked out, of course, but the true pioneers are the ones who take the early risks.
